We provide a professional DJ with a full DJ booth, PA system, lighting and wireless microphone. They arrive about an hour before doors, set up, and mix for the duration you've booked — typically three to six hours. The DJ works from a "must-play" and "do-not-play" list you send at booking, takes live requests on the night, and reads the room to keep the dance floor moving.

Default skew is wedding and party crowd-pleasers — the dance-floor classics most rooms respond to. Send us a "must-play" list and a "do-not-play" list at booking and the DJ will anchor the set around yours, blend in live requests on the night, and judge what the room wants in the moment. Bespoke-genre sets — Bollywood, Afrobeats, R&B-led, indie, soul, house — bookable on request, given enough notice to brief the right DJ.

We handle the kit, the DJ and the music — you don't need to provide anything beyond power and a corner of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who DJs the event?

A professional DJ matched to your event type, music brief and venue size. SFB is your point of contact from quote through to event day.

Can we send a must-play and do-not-play list?

Yes — we encourage both. A "must-play" list (twenty-or-so tracks works best) gives the DJ the anchors for the set; a "do-not-play" list catches family-feud songs, ex-related disasters and anything else you'd rather not hear. Send both at booking and the DJ will build the night around them.

Can guests take requests on the night?

Yes — guest requests are part of how the night runs, vetted against your do-not-play list. Most events land at roughly 80% planned set / 20% live requests. For tight corporate events where the set needs to stay on-script we can lock requests off.

What music styles do your DJs cover?

Default is wedding and party crowd-pleasers — the dance-floor classics most rooms respond to — and the DJ reads the room from there. We can also book in for specific genres on request: Bollywood, Afrobeats, R&B-led, indie, soul, house. Just tell us the brief at quote stage and we'll match the DJ to it.

Is a microphone included for speeches?

Yes — a wireless handheld microphone is included as standard. The DJ can also handle MC duties (announcements, bridal-party intros, last-orders calls) if you'd like a single voice across the night.

What kit does the DJ bring?

A white DJ booth with a sparkly facade, a Pioneer-style DJ controller, PA speakers, LED lighting (disco-ball spinners, par-can light bar) and a wireless microphone. Exact kit is scaled to your room and guest count by the DJ on the day — we don't over-promise a fixed spec because the right rig for a 60-guest country pub isn't the right rig for a 300-guest manor-house wedding.

How long does the DJ play for?

Three, four, five or six hours — pick the duration in the quote builder. Late-licence extensions are available where your venue's licence allows it; tell us in the quote and we'll confirm.

What add-ons can we book alongside the DJ?

Giant light-up letters (LOVE, I DO, MR & MRS, custom names), a twinkling star-cloth LED dance floor, extra room-wash uplighting and smoke / haze / cold-spark effects. All bookable on the same quote, all set up and managed by the same team alongside the DJ.

Does the DJ pair well with a photo booth on the same night?

Yes — it's our most-booked combination. The DJ runs the dance floor at one end of the room; the photo booth runs the memento-and-keepsake side of the night at the other. Two bookings, one team co-ordinating both, one quote.

Are you insured?

Yes — public liability insurance is included as standard. Venues that request a copy of the certificate can have it on file before the day.

How far do you cover?

Surrey, London, Kent and UK-wide. Travel is built into the quote based on your venue postcode — drop your date and postcode into the instant quote and we'll come back with a tailored figure.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you can — peak Saturday wedding dates book out furthest ahead. Weekday and off-peak dates are often available with much shorter notice. Send your date and postcode through the instant quote and we'll confirm availability straight away.

How much does DJ hire cost?

Pricing depends on event type, distance from our Surrey base, hire duration and any add-ons (light-up letters, star-cloth dance floor, uplighting, sparkulars). Use the instant quote builder for a tailored figure in under a minute — drop in your date, postcode and event type and we'll come back with the numbers.

A professional DJ on a white booth with a full PA system, LED lighting and a wireless microphone. The DJ arrives about an hour before doors, sets up the kit, and mixes for the duration you've booked. Default skew is wedding and party crowd-pleasers, with bespoke-genre sets — Bollywood, Afrobeats, R&B-led, indie, soul, house — bookable on request.

You send a "must-play" and "do-not-play" list at booking. The DJ works from those, takes live requests on the night, and reads the room. You stay a guest at your own event.

What's included as standard

  • Professional DJ with full kit and lighting rig
  • White DJ booth with sparkly facade
  • PA speakers sized to the room
  • LED lighting (disco-ball spinners + par-can bar)
  • Wireless handheld microphone for speeches and announcements
  • DJ can MC announcements and bridal-party intros if you'd like
  • Delivery, setup and pack-down handled by the DJ
  • Public liability insurance included

Add-ons bookable alongside the DJ

All on the same quote, all set up and managed by the same team:

  • Light-up letters — 4ft illuminated marquee letters; LOVE, I DO, MR & MRS, custom names
  • Star-cloth LED dance floor — white twinkling-bulb floor that turns any room into a dance floor
  • Room-wash uplighting — coloured uplighters around the walls for ambience
  • Smoke / haze / sparkular effects — low smoke for the dance floor, cold-spark fountains for the first dance

Where it fits best

  • Weddings — DJ from the wedding breakfast through to the last dance; pairs naturally with light-up letters and a star-cloth dance floor for the reception
  • Milestone birthdays and anniversaries — 30ths, 40ths, 50ths, 60ths, 70ths, golden and ruby; the DJ reads the crowd and builds the night around your must-play list
  • Corporate parties and brand events — sets matched to your audience; locked-off requests available if the night needs to stay on-script
  • Private parties — house parties, marquee parties, garden parties; rig sized to the room

How the music is built

Default is wedding and party crowd-pleasers — the dance-floor classics most rooms respond to. The DJ blends three things on the night:

  1. Your must-play list — the anchor tracks, usually around twenty
  2. Your do-not-play list — the songs to keep out of the night
  3. Live requests + judgement — what the floor is asking for and what's actually working

Bespoke-genre sets are bookable with notice — tell us the brief at quote stage and we'll match the DJ to it.

One DJ, one rig, one decision

The DJ arrives an hour before doors with the booth, the speakers, the lights, the wireless mic and the music. They build the set around your must-play and do-not-play lists, take requests as the night unfolds, and keep the floor full from the first dance through to last orders. You don't need to brief the room or babysit the playlist — that's what the DJ is there for.

White booth, sparkly facade, full PA and a lighting rig sized to the room.

Stack the DJ with the right add-ons

The DJ booking is the spine of the entertainment, but the rest of the dance-floor scenery is on the same order form. Light-up letters, twinkling star-cloth LED dance floors, room-wash uplighting and smoke / haze / cold-spark effects all bookable alongside the DJ — pick what you want in the quote and we'll co-ordinate setup with the rest of the kit.
